Good news all around!

This will be short but sweet. We had a doctor appointment yesterday and got to hear Little C's heartbeat again! The doctor says I'm doing great and the heartbeat sounds nice & strong! We also got a call with the results from our NT Scan this morning. She said the baby is nice & healthy. The chances of our child having down syndrome is 1 in 10,000. What a huge relief! So our baby is healthy and brewing very nicely in there!!! Keep on growin Little C =)

We are such packrats!!!

So Art & I have started to get the house ready for the baby. First project was the stairs. We have to finish repainting the walls and put some molding up and then they'll be done. Art started working on redoing the ceiling in the dining room a few weeks ago. Once he's finished doing that (and it's almost done!) we're moving the computer and futon from upstairs to the back of our dining room to make a little sitting area. The guest room needs to be moved to the old computer room and the old guest room will be the baby’s room. So while Art was working on the ceiling I started to clean out the closet in the baby’s room. Holy Shit!!! I've never seen so much crap in my life! We keep such garbage it’s not even funny! I emptied the whole closet out and then started trashing what we didn't need. 6 trash bags later it actually looks like a closet again!

I can’t wait until all our little projects are done. Our house is a mess! The dining room is overflowing into our living room; the upstairs is a mess until we can get the downstairs together. It’s just so messy and crowded in the house right now. I can’t wait for it all to be done so we can have someone come in to start painting the baby’s room! Now that’ll be exciting!!!!!!!!

As for me, I feel good! I have to start eating dinner though. Sunday night I got very light headed and dizzy. I turned very pale and almost passed out. I think it's because I didn't eat dinner. Art made steak & potatoes and it just didn't appeal to me at all! Nothing really does except pizza or pasta. We went out to dinner with a couple of friends Saturday night and I took one bite of my chicken and that was it. I was done. I have to start forcing myself to eat something! Last night Art had steak again and he made me two baked potatoes. They were delicious!!! Seems like I have a thing for carbs...LOL! I have another doctor appointment tonight so I'll talk to the doctor about it. Other than that I feel great!!! One more week and we're in the Second Trimester...WooHoooo!!!

Little C's first picture!!!

WOW! That was the most amazing experience of my entire life!!! It was so nice to finally see Little C. You go all this time without feeling anything or thinking that anything is really going on but wow...there's a whole lot going on in there! We got to see our baby kicking their legs and waving their arms around! It was amazing! To think that all of that is going on inside me! I could have sat in that room and watched that screen all day. It was so great! Art & I both were in awe of what we were seeing. After the ultrasound the tech gave us our pictures and left saying that the doctor would be right in. While we were waiting I just started crying hysterical. Looking at the pictures of our baby and having heard the heartbeat (a very strong heartbeat) was, I guess, too much for me to handle and I lost it! As I'm crying hysterical the doctor walks in and looks absolutely shocked that I was crying. After we talked with her we were getting ready to leave and she said "I hope everything is ok with you" and I said "Oh yes, I just got a little emotional. This was our first ultrasound." So she said "Oooooh, they're happy tears. Cry away then!" I have no idea why she thought I was crying but I thought it was pretty funny!

The tech did tell us what she thought we were having but we're not going to tell anyone just yet since it's not 100% accurate. We made the appointment for our next ultrasound on April 16th. At that ultrasound they'll check the baby’s major organs and they'll tell us for sure what we're having. For now I have my pictures of our little baby that I just can't stop staring at. Art says the baby has my little nose and will probably look just like me, which he says is a good thing =)

I adore my husband!

I have to take a moment and give credit to this wonderful man. When they tell you that your hormones will be all over the place you never really believe it or understand it until you're actually pregnant. I can go from happy to sad to unbelievably angry in 60 seconds and my poor husband gets the bulk of it all! I wish I wouldn't do that because he has been so great with me. It amazes me that after 8+ years together I love him more at this moment than I've ever loved him before! I love the way he's so overprotective of me. I love the way he is always making sure I have what I need. I love the way he rubs my belly. I love the way he talks to Little C and give (S)he a kiss every night and every morning. I love the way he rests his head on my belly because he thinks he can hear Little C's heartbeat. I love the way he is already so completely in love with this baby. And most of all, I love the new man this baby has shown me. He brings a smile to my face every time I see him and it is because of him that this is such a happy pregnancy for me so far. Well...except for those unbelievably angry moments but those are beyond his control...LOL! Hopefully there won't be too many of them!

Friday we go for our first ultrasound and we'll get to see Little C for the first time. We can't wait!!!! Babies first picture...SO EXCITING =)
